Attending a chapter meeting is the best way to start getting involved with Engineers Without Borders.
General chapter meetings are the last Tuesday of each month, located in downtown Chicago at a convenient time for most members. A chapter meeting consists of a 20-30 minute presentation about program, a sustainable technology, or another topic of interest pertinent to our mission. After the presentation, committee leaders and program leads report on their activities and ask for volunteers for specific tasks, and if necessary. After the meeting, members have a tradition of socializing nearby and coordinating the next steps for the chapter.
We are always looking for new discussion topics for our monthly chapter meetings. If you know of a relevant technology or issue related to community development, please contact our research and training committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While chapter meetings occur once a month, committee and project teams all have meetings outside of this venue and date. Social events are another terrific way to meet people and learn about the happenings of the chapter. These events are likewise publicized on our Calendar page, and you can also subscribe to the Google EWB-Chicagoland Professionals calendar.
