EWB-USA will not approve new programs or allow travel to: Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Algeria, Chad, Congo (DRC), Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Iran, Cuba, and North Korea. For the past two years, EWB-USA has placed a hold on new program applications from communities in Africa, due to the high cost of airfare and organizational capacity.
